I was happy to see City workers trimming the tree shoots sprouting from all the dead crepe myrtles on Hull Street this evening.
As we reported in our prior article City Workers Hack & Kill Trees On Hull Street, city workers maimed and killed all the mature crepe myrtles on Hull
The Eastbound lanes of Hull Street between 6th and 7th are closed due to a downed power line and pole. Dominion Energy emergency crews are on-site.
You should avoid Hull Street until this situation is resolved.
For those of you that drive down Hull Street, this is going to be old news. Last year when the mature crepe myrtles were in full bloom, City of Richmond workers came on trucks with chainsaws and cut all the blooms off the trees.
