Dish by Design by Laura Dyer Hild - August 21, 2016August 21, 201657 Manchesterites – if you notice some new trash cans in your neighborhood you can thank RVA Clean Sweep and Keep Virginia Beautiful. RVA Clean Sweep received a grant this year from Keep Virginia Beautiful which made possible the purchase of trash cans for Manchester. Clean Sweep has done countless cleanups around RVA, including Manchester. Thousands of volunteer hours have been logged with the removal of over 23,000 pounds of litter from the surrounding area and the James River. Anyone can volunteer at RVA Clean Sweep, and I encourage you to volunteer any time that you can to this worthy cause. Just recently a bachelorette party volunteered to pick up litter in Manchester. Certainly not a typical way to party before the upcoming nuptials of marriage, but totally awesome nonetheless! Way to go ladies! The amount of litter in Manchester is astounding at times, and I’m very thankful for the volunteers that clean up the area every so often. It takes a village – let’s keep our neighborhood clean of litter so we can take pride in the area where we live, play, and work. Thank you RVA Clean Sweep!!!
