Cinema Manachesto: Free Outdoor Movie Night 7 PM Saturday 10/14/17 News by Michael C. Hild - August 31, 2017September 9, 201769 My wife Laura and I laughed while mentioning that the newly plastered wall at the renovation at 1213 Hull Street looked like a giant movie screen. Then we looked at each other in a wild-eyed crazy sort of way and joked that it could be used as an outdoor movie theater. Laura called it Cinema Manachesto. We burst into laughter knowing it was a ridiculous idea. The Cinema Manachesto nickname is a play on one of our favorite movies: Cinema Paradiso. The 1988 Italian movie won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film at the 62nd Academy Awards (see trailer below). If you haven’t seen Cinema Paradiso, it is a perfect date night movie. The more we talked about the idea, the more we liked it. And like most crazy ideas we get, we decided to run with it. So as a fun neighborhood event we are hosting a free outdoor showing of Cinema Paradiso on Saturday Oct 14th at 7 PM at 1213 Hull St. Bring a blanket to sit on the grass, invite a friend, and bring some snacks.
