Have You Ever Visited the Richmond Railway Museum? News by Michael C. Hild - January 16, 2016January 28, 201623 Have you ever taken the time to stop in and visit Manchester’s Richmond Railway Museum at 102 Hull Street? The museum focuses on railroads which served central Virginia and their impact on Richmond and its citizens. The museum offers free tours given by knowledgeable train enthusiasts. We just went for a free tour today and had the nicest tour guide walk us through the museum. After seeing the model train set display, touring the museum exhibits, exploring the onsite caboose and passenger car, we picked up this nifty book at the gift shop. It looks like we will be doing some reading on Richmond’s tragic Church Hill train tunnel collapse. We would definitely recommend the tour for families and children, as the displays are very kid friendly. The Museum’s Hours of Operation are: Saturday 11-4 Sunday 1-4 excluding major holidays Also group tours by appointment. Call 1-804-233-6237
Thank you all for your wonderful articles that help in the revitalization of such a beautiful area that has been neglected! I’m beyond excited to see what will become!!! Reply
