Hull Street 1966 News by Michael C. Hild - April 27, 201677 Hull Street once had it going on. The above picture is of the Benedictine Cadets marching in a 1966 Armed Forces Parade down the 1300 block of Manchester’s Hull Street. Can you believe the number and density of stores along Hull Street?! Compare the above picture to a June 2015 Google street view image. Today, Hull Street is a shell of its former self. But my intuition tells me it won’t be that way for long. I see incredible potential! Photograph credit to The Valentine: Cooke Collection.

At one time Manchester was it’s own town separate of Richmond. Kind of like Ashland. When Richmond was known as fort west in 1622 Richmond, the fort, was moved over to Manchester area before being moved back again 10 years later. Reply
