Small Richmond Ain’t So Small News by Michael C. Hild - June 25, 2016June 25, 201658 We are passionate about community news, RVA, and Manchester specifically. We love seeing Richmond’s neighborhoods thrive. We hope you agree that community blogs are essential because they help each neighborhood tell its story, build an identity, and hold the City accountable for basic services on which we all depend. That’s why we started The Dogtown Dish. So we decided to partner up with our fellow RVA community bloggers and participate in Small Richmond. The website feed now aggregates stories from 15 different independent news sources in RVA (and growing). We hope our content will help each other draw eyeballs and increase awareness about neighboring communities. We see that as a good thing for RVA since each neighborhood has such interesting stories to tell. The folks who produce these blogs also offer perspectives on broader RVA issues that mainstream media doesn’t always cover. We kind of like that. We hope you will check it out, since we will show the Small Richmond feed on the right sidebar of The Dogtown Dish site. And who knows…maybe the increased traffic will help everyone sell a little advertising to help cover the enormous amounts of time they volunteer-simply because they love their hood.
