Manchester/Blackwell/Swansboro Historic District Expansion Meeting: Wednesday, August 15th 6PM

The Virginia Department of Historic Resources is holding a community meeting tomorrow on Wednesday, August 15th at 6PM at 900 Decatur Street to discuss the proposed expansion of the historic district for parts of Manchester, Blackwell, and Swansboro.

DHR is holding the meeting to share details related to the proposed historic district expansion, allow attendees to ask questions, and afford an opportunity for neighborhood stakeholders to share their thoughts. For or against, we encourage you to attend.

Old historic structures that are not currently eligible for renovation according to DHR’s program would become eligible if approved. The historic properties in question are scattered throughout Old Manchester, the Hull Street Business Corridor, Blackwell, the Cowardin/Jefferson Davis Corridor, and Swansboro.
