Pooches Rule at the 2019 Dogtown Dog Parade and Pupperpalooza

In case you missed it, The Dogtown Dog Parade and Pupperpalooza had its first pooch showing in the heart of Manchester yesterday at the Butterbean Market & Cafe. A day that started off cloudy with the threat of rain ended in a sunny blue sky perfect for dog parading weather.

I was completely overwhelmed and impressed by the sheer amount of dogs and their owners that came to the event. You never know what may happen when you put an idea out into cyber world. One thing is for sure people love their dogs in “Dogtown” and want to show off their canine babies. We had twenty costumed dogs that entered the parade some of which included their costumed dog handler.

I have to confess I was a bit nervous being the judge for this years event. A dog parade has been an idea that’s been brewing in my head for quite sometime now. For inspiration Michael and I watched Best in Show Friday night for kicks. If you haven’t seen it I encourage you to do so. You won’t be disappointed.

A big shout out goes to all the owners and their dogs who came out! Without you this wouldn’t have been possible. There was a tremendous amount of thought and creativity that went into dressing the dogs, people, and even a baby! It was a difficult call to make the final three selections for first (best in show), second, and third place. If you didn’t win a spot on the pink podium there’s always next year! So get those creative juices flowing!

Check out this collage of photos from yesterday. For anyone out there that took additional photos please send them our way so we can include them in our montage.

Another big applause and thank you for those that participated and/or donated to the event! Dominion Energy Green Power, For the Love of Pete, and the Woofy Bus.
