Red Dragon Tattoo Moves From the Fan to Hull Street

A month or so ago I spoke to Charlie Westbrook and he mentioned that a tattoo shop was moving into the commercial space for one of his newly renovated buildings on Hull Street. I didn’t catch the name of the shop though. This Saturday however, I saw activity at 1315 Hull Street with a new neon sign announcing that Red Dragon Tattoo was open for business.

While the group is still moving in and the exterior storefront renovation is not 100% complete, I stopped by to take a picture and say hello. I spoke briefly with Red Dragon owner Casey Middleton. He said he was really excited to have moved to the neighborhood. Apparently Red Dragon was actually originally located on Hull Street at one time, but much further South. He had since moved his shop to the Fan District at 1825 W Main Street which was next door to Goatacado. When I asked him why he decided to move back to Hull Street, he said that he saw all the activity taking place and there were no other tattoo shops in the area. Casey said he saw a lot of similarity in Hull Street to that of Carytown and was excited to move in early to the neighborhood as it transforms. The announcement from their Facebook page is shown below.
