1213 Hull Street Renovation Begins

The momentum of renovation along the Hull Street business corridor is picking up steam.

Originally the Jones-Green Shoe Co. building, 1213 Hull Street was originally built in 1911. The building was most recently Richmond Christian Family Service Store before it it was ultimately boarded up approximately 30+ years ago.

The building is being renovated By Church Hill Ventures into apartments at the back and rear with 1st Floor Commercial/Retail facing Hull Street. Demolition of the non-historic storefront and interior at 1213 Hull Street has begun so that historic rehabilitation may start at the beginning of 2017.

  1. I wonder if they plan to restore the missing façade above the cornice? It’s sort of overkill, but could offer a nice space for signage for the downstairs retail space, perhaps; or could be used for house numbers (which appears to be what is in the original design). Regardless, this looks like it could be very attractive once finished.
